David is a seasoned HR professional with over 20 years of HR experience, spanning across different sectors such as Manufacturing, Transport, Technology, Hotel, Retail & Food Services. Recognized throughout his career as an effective people manager, David leverages on his in-depth HR management capabilities and skillful labor relationship management to make significant contributions in manpower optimization, business transformation, organization design as well as HR operation process interventions.
Some of the companies that David has worked for included Pentex-Schweizer, DHL Supply Logistics, SMRT, RWS, Singtel, FNA Group International and KrisShop (SIA) among others. He specializes in strategic HR business partnership and HR operations where he played key roles in business transformation, organization design as well as HR operation process interventions.
David was HR lead at Singtel Consumer Operations business unit where he spearheaded the headcount optimization and achieved an improvement of more than 10% year on year. He has also made significant changes to the call centre business by means of job re-design and cross-training. As the HR lead for the HR shared services in RWS during the start-up years, David stabilized HR processes in the midst of increasing headcount demands from the business operations and successfully migrated payroll system for over 7000 employees in nine months and reduced payroll related complaints by over 73%. Putting in place new processes, David helped improve efficiency by over 70% and met over 80% of HR transactions within agreed service levels.
During his service in SMRT Corporation, David played a pivotal role in building up of manpower capabilities of the service crew where he partnered with Land Transport Authority in the launch of the nation-wide public transport transformation initiative.
During his service in KrisShop (eCommerce retail arm of SIA), he was instrumental in process improvement and automation, such as digitalization of staff personal files and enabling the transformation to a hot desking working model.
David holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from National University of Singapore and a Diploma in Training & Development Management awarded by the Singapore Institute of Management and the Institute of Training and Development (United Kingdom). David is also trained in Business analytics (Python and Orange) as well as Robotic Process Analytics (RPA UiPath) with the RPA Academy.
